What name personalisation includes
Name personalisation is done after your garment, cap or bag has been approved for branding. We can add an employee name, learner name, initials, department title, role title or a short identifier such as teacher, driver, waiter or security. This works well for corporate wear, schoolwear, hospitality clothing, work shirts, jackets, caps and selected bags.
For most items we place the personalisation on the left chest, right chest, sleeve, back yoke or front panel depending on the garment shape and the logo layout. If the item already carries embroidery or print, we check spacing first so the finished piece looks balanced and readable.
- Individual names for staff uniforms and school wear
- Initials for cleaner, lower profile branding
- Role titles for reception, site teams and service staff
- Short wording for departments, classes or event crews
How we set up your personalisation
We start with the approved spelling list. That list must be checked carefully because personalisation is done item by item, and a spelling error on one garment can affect a full batch. Our production team then prepares the layout to suit the garment size, fabric weight and placement area.
For smaller items we keep the lettering compact so it stays readable without crowding the logo. For larger jackets or overalls, we can use a wider format where the name sits neatly under the logo or on the opposite side. Where the cloth is stretchy, textured or very fine, we adjust the stitch count or print size to avoid puckering and uneven edges.
- Approved spelling list is checked before production
- Placement is matched to the garment type
- Letter size is adjusted for visibility and balance
- Artwork is prepared for either embroidery or print depending on the item
Embroidery, print or transfer for the job at hand
We choose the method that suits the fabric and the quantity. Embroidery is the preferred option for shirts, golf shirts, jackets, knitwear and caps where a durable stitched finish is needed. It gives a firm edge and holds up well on garments washed often in Mbombela heat and lowveld humidity.
For some light fabrics, event wear or full-colour name panels, screen printing or sublimation may be more practical. This is often the case where the garment is polyester based, or where the personalisation needs a flatter finish. We will advise on the most suitable method so you do not pay for a process that is too heavy, too small or not ideal for the cloth.
- Embroidery for a raised, long lasting finish
- Screen printing for simple text on suitable items
- Sublimation for polyester garments and some event wear
- Method is chosen to match fabric and usage
Turnaround for single names and bulk orders
Turnaround depends on the number of items, the approval speed and the method used. Simple name additions can move quickly once artwork and spelling are signed off. Larger staff orders, school intakes and mixed batches take longer because each item must be sorted, matched and checked before packing.
If your order is needed for a function, matric event, staff issue day or school opening, send it early. That gives our team time to confirm the quantities, set the garments, and keep the line moving even when load shedding or a late delivery interrupts the day. We always give a realistic schedule rather than promising a date we cannot keep.
- Small approved orders can be processed faster
- Bulk orders need sorting, set-up and final checking
- Clear spelling approval reduces delays
- Urgent work depends on capacity and item type
Pricing based on quantity and stitch count
Our pricing is based on the number of garments, the size of the personalisation, the number of colour changes where relevant, and whether the job is embroidered, printed or transferred. A short surname on a chest area is priced differently from a longer role title on the back of a jacket.
We keep pricing practical for schools, businesses and clubs. If you are ordering for a team in White River, Hazyview, Malelane or Barberton, we can quote from your list and garment type. Where the same name is repeated across many items, the price per item is usually lower. If each piece carries a different name, we allow for the extra setup and handling time.
- Price changes with quantity and placement size
- Longer names or titles may need larger layouts
- Repeated names can reduce the unit cost
- Separate methods are quoted separately where needed
Keeping personalisation neat after wear and washing
Personalised garments last best when they are washed and dried properly. Follow the care label on the item and avoid harsh treatment around the stitched or printed area. If the garment is for daily use, inspect it regularly for loose threads, lifting edges or fading, especially after repeated washing.
For embroidery, a light trim of stray threads is normal, but the stitching itself should stay firm. For printed names, avoid high heat on the decorated area and do not rub the print while it is still damp. If an item is being re issued in a school or workplace, it is worth checking the name panel before the next round of use so the clothing still presents well.
- Wash according to the garment care label
- Do not iron directly over decorated areas unless the care note allows it
- Check heavy-use items every few months for wear
- Replace or rework pieces that are fraying or damaged
